The workshop discusses the opportunities and challenges associated with using the Internet for electronic publishing and reviews the world Internet presence as well as the Arab Internet presence.

The workshop introduces smarter surfing techniques and Internet resources for journalists written by journalists. This includes sources of facts and data, business material, and commercial databases. Surfing without sinking, advance use of search engines and going beyond Google are also introduced.
The workshop also discusses:
- Web credibilty and evaluating Internet information resources;
- Blogging as a form of new journalism;
- Learning from Web site’s statistics, anaylyzing Web site traffic, and how to translate statistics into actions;
- Web-related Internet Law and legal issues
